Earth Day Celebration

Earth Day Celebration at Honey Creek Landing

It started out as one of those days ...

... where I find myself behind the wheel of my car,
and I remember something I need,
and I run back into the house to get it.
SEVEN. TIMES.

So ... it started out as one of those days ...

... but it got better!!!

Except, I did forget my camera.

So I begged and borrowed (but didn't steal)
my sister's camera;
(although I haven't returned it yet)

... and then I begged Carrie, owner of
Grand Panache and my very gracious hostess,
for a pic that she took of me signing
one of my canvases.

Regardless of the chilly weather and rain

(oh! this rain has been going on and on for days!)

it was really quite fun to set up a booth
again ... it's been YEARS! ... and peddle my wares.

The day flew by and quite a few people turned
out to enjoy kettle corn, wine tasting,
Katie's yummy-delicious gourmet cupcakes ...
lots of art and photography,
trendy (adorable!!!!) clothing ...
and so much more.

I'd do it again.  Anytime!!!

Peace out

Earth Day - Favorites

This is probably the next-to-the-last time
I will post about Earth Day
(because I just have to post pics of my
actual set up this Saturday!)

I just wanted to share some favorites
of a few of my biggest fans ...

Doc's favorite:
"because it would look great above the television"

my 6-year-old's favorite:
"because his eye is kinda half-closed like that"

my 8-year-old's favorite:
"because I really just LIKE this one!"

my 12-year-old's favorite:
"because you asked me to choose, and this one
matches the bar room"

my 11-year-old's favorite:
"I just wish they were frogs"

and ... my favorite ...

... because, frankly ...

Life IS Grand!!!

Peace out!!!

Earth Day - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Earth Day Canvas by megpiedesigns

If you're hopping through the loop today looking for inspiration
for Easter bunnies and colored eggs ...

... you're probably wondering why my page is full of pelicans and lake fish.

(well) I've spent the last few weeks gearing up for our
First Annual Earth Day Celebration!

And because I still haven't managed to figure out how to post more than one pic, I decided to cram all my canvases into one photo.
Awesome, right??

Anyway ... I've finally found a use for all those canvases I've been collecting over the years ... all sizes!

Some of my work incorporates a local character newspaper into the main design ... like some of the pelicans and some of the leaping fish are made using torn papers and homemade decoupage.

I don't consider myself a multi-media artist,
but I think it's fun to take a closer look at each painting
and discover the town name printed somewhere in the design!

On the other canvases, I've decoupaged portions of articles
about local fishing and other community news.

Just for fun.

Just because it's Earth Day ...on Grand Lake!

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle!!!

Peace Out
