Happiness is... Painting!

Happiness is... painting for someone else!

We are invited to a Birthday Party
for two seven year olds ... it's at the school
gym and it's all about BASKETBALL!!!

Here's what we're giving
the birthday boy and girl:

A cute little personalized
cork panel plaque!
Here's what you need to make one:

A cork panel from the stationery section
at your local office supply store,
and some acrylic paints.  I used our
school colors, plus Flesh Tone and Orange
for the basketball.

Use a sponge roller to paint the front and sides
of each panel with your base coat color.

Spend lots of time and paper sketching
possible character details for
each board, and finally settle on the
ever popular stick figure.  Too easy.

Transfer the main pattern lines using
a light colored transfer paper.

Go over pattern lines with acrylic paint
thinned with water to an ink-like consistency.

Shade around the lettering with a darker
shade of your base coat color, and use a thin
liner brush and inky black paint to outline
all your details ... including
a super smiley face and some weird hair.

Happy Basketball Birthday!!!
